Sarah first started at BIAPH as a volunteer, where she witnessed the organization’s dedication to providing support services to the brain injury community. She then transitioned into her role as a Research Assistant, conducting qualitative research to understand the experiences of ABI survivors and caregivers, shedding light on this important issue. She is passionate about equipping and empowering patients and survivors through education and knowledge translation, and she enjoys learning about new research and interventions in the brain injury field. Sarah is an alumnus of the University of Waterloo (BSc, Health Studies) and an incoming Physician Assistant student at the University of Toronto.
Sarah serves as the Peer Support Coordinator under OBIA and BIAPH, and hopes to advocate for the importance of peer support for both survivors and caregivers, and contribute meaningfully to this important aspect of recovery.
