Rob Kattenhorn, was a Rehabilitation Support Worker at Lawlor Therapy Support Services for 12 years and he helped numerous abi survivors reach their rehabilitation goals. He was dedicated, committed and client centered.
Rob was a board member of the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo Wellington in 2012 and was one of the key coordinators of the Walk, Run, and Roll fundraiser for the B.I.A.W.W in 2013 and 2014. He also has attended, and/or volunteered at numerous fundraising activities that support acquired brain injury since 2004.
Rob was awarded the Lawlor Mission and Values Award in 2010 for his dedication to rehabilitation, commitment to client-focused care, pursuit of high standards, promotion of ethical principles and conduct, focus on continuing education and going above and beyond expectations.
Rob also was nominated and awarded the 2014 Health Care Professional of The Year at the OBIA and PIA Back To School Conference.
Rob passed away in June 2016 after a two year battle with Colorectal Cancer. Lawlor and BIAPH have joined to start a sponsorship in Rob’s name, The Rob Kattenhorn Family Support Bursary. This fund will support families that do not have access to insurance funds and who are in need of rehabilitation or care giver relief. Rob would be honoured to know people continue to be supported in his name.
