With the help of Solus Support Services/Elements Support Services we were able to continue the excitement and offer Game 6 in our 12 Games of Christmas Event. Solus/Elements sponsored the Goal in One Car Contest allowing a lucky fan to join the Steelhead’s ice for a shot at winning an Audi Q5. Although we are eagerly awaiting a winning shot, contestants are enjoying the opportunity to have the chance at the $75,000 car! 

We designated this game as an opportunity to raise awareness for inequality in our community. Halloween, typically a time for imaginative costumes and role-playing, opens a world of creativity for children. However, for many kids affected by disability, tasks that seem routine can turn Halloween into a formidable challenge. For children living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), these challenges can be particularly difficult taking away some of the childhood joy experienced during Halloween. ABI can result in various cognitive and physical impairments, making activities like trick-or-treating and enjoying Halloween festivities a complex and sometimes overwhelming experience. Children with ABI may struggle with sensory sensitivities, mobility issues, or communication difficulties, which can affect their ability to participate fully in Halloween activities. Raising awareness about these challenges helps promote a more inclusive and understanding community, ensuring that every child can enjoy the magic of Halloween.
