Navigating Funding following ABI — Private and Insurance Pathways

Judy Guse Salah, R.N. with JGS Health

Judy Guse Salah, has been practicing since 1973, with 26 years of practice in hospital acute care and specialty units including emergency, critical care — neurotrauma, SICU, MICU, CCU and OR, at the staff, teaching and administrative levels. For the past 22 years her practice has focused on Nursing Rehabilitation Case Management in paediatric and adult TBI as well as spinal cord injury. 

Judy has been an active participant in a variety of health initiatives including the provincial task force for the development of emergency services and standards, the Toronto District Health Council Hospital Restructuring, the Infant Mental Health Promotion Project, the Easter Seal Parent Advocacy Committee and the Active Living Alliance for Canadians with a Disability. She was also a guest lecturer at the Ontario Association of Children’s Rehabilitation Services — Transition Panel. 

Having guest lectured at O.I.S.E, University of Toronto from 1996 to 2006, Judy has augmented her education in areas of organizational behaviour, cultural anthropology, cultural implications of pain as well as ongoing continuing education in neurotrauma. A member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario, Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (Ontario Association of Nurses in Independent Practice, Mental Health Nursing Interest Group, Ontario Association of Rehabilitation Nurses), and the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy. In July 2014, Judy was nominated for Case Manager of the Year during the Ontario Brain Injury Association’s Inaugural Awards of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation.
