Nov 26, 2014 Burlington Support Group Welcomes Bobi Tychynski Shimoda

Ms. Bobi Tychynski Shimoda of S L Hunter Speechworks has extensive experience working with individuals who have communication disorders as a result of suffering mild, moderate, and severe traumatic brain injuries (motor vehicle related as well as other traumatic causes including falls, and penetrating gunshot wounds), strokes,  degenerative illnesses, and communication difficulties of psychological cause. She is experienced with the assessment of swallowing disorders within all of the above populations having worked in acute, rehabilitation and community settings.

Ms. Tychynski-Shimoda is experienced in providing comprehension communication and cognitive-communication assessments; provision of recommendations; and provision of treatment. She has assisted clients with academic, vocational and community reintegration goals within the broader context of their communication and cognitive-communication goals.

On November 26th, Ms. Tychynski-Shimoda plans to share some of the ways an acquired brain injury can negatively influence communication. She will be available to answer any questions you may have about the communication difficulties you, or someone you know experiences. Some tips will be provided, keeping in mind that treatment is always individualized with no two clients being alike.
