Helping Families and Survivors of Acquired Brain Injuries

BIAPH’s 9th Annual Bowl-a-thon

Thursday February 27th, 2014 from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Classic Bowl – 3055 Dundas Street West, Mississauga, ON., L5L 3R8

Dear Friend:

Happy New Year! Hope you all had a nice and relaxing holiday season surrounded by family and friends. BIAPH’s first fundraiser of the year is our annual bowling event with all proceeds directed to our support groups.  As our groups become more established, it is very comforting to observe the formation of new camaraderie and friendships. A common feedback from our members are how appreciative they are of coming to “a safe place” where they are understood and accepted with no need to explain the daily struggles and challenges they all face. To keep our current groups going and to expand our groups to new locations BIAPH needs your help and support. THANK YOU to everyone who have supported us in the past through sponsorship, donations, and event participation!

Again, we have set a goal to raise $ 10,000 for the 2014 Bowl-a-thon fundraiser!

Please take this opportunity to introduce your family, friends and colleagues to BIAPH.  Let them know that an estimated half a million people in Ontario are living with an Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) with 18,000 new cases added every year. IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT ABI OFTEN IS A NON-VISIBLE INJURY.  Every brain injury is unique, it can be mild, moderate or severe and the short and long-term effects will vary. However, most people face life altering changes and challenges. ABI affects not only the “survivor” but also their families and circle of friends.

We are counting on your help.  Here is what you can do:

  1.  Put a team together.  Bowling is always more fun with friends or colleagues. Please invite them to join your team and support your efforts!
  2. To Register and/or reserve a lane send us an e-mail at biaph@biaph.com or call 905-823-2221 or fax 905-823-9960 with your name as the Team Captain and the name of your 5 team mates. Remember if you each collect a minimum of $50.00 in pledges the entrance fee of $25.00 per bowler is waived. You can also register via PayPal at www.biaph.com
  3. Collect pledge money. We are asking each bowler to try to raise $100.  All you need to do is ask 20 people to pledge $5.00 each.  Some people will give you more and others may only be able to offer a dollar or two, just remember everything counts.

Other ways you can contribute to the Bowl-a-thon: – Buy a Lane (or two) $ 250.00 each – Donate items for the Silent Auction & Raffle –  Donate prizes for bowlers

We have 16 lanes reserved, so sign up early to avoid disappointment!
